General checklist
Is this the pair of binoculars that would suit my needs? There are many of different areas you need to consider before buying. To help you I have compiled a list questions you should ask yourself before investing in a pair of binoculars.
Ask yourselves these questions before buying.
-Are these binoculars lightweight? Will they be too heavy to carry around for a long period of time?
-Can the binoculars work in a variety of conditions such as morning fog and different light conditions?
-Are they appropriate for viewing through glasses?
-Do you get a clear crisp picture when looking through the lens?
-Is the magnification adjustable? I would recommend buying a pair that you can adjust the magnification for both eyes and not just one eye.
-How much do they cost? Is it good value for money? Remember just because they are expensive does not mean they are the best.
-Would the binoculars break if I dropped them? You want a sturdy pair that can withstand breakage when dropped. Binoculars that are shockproof are ideal if they are dropped accidently.
Remember, binoculars that have a "zoom in" feature are not necessarily the best for bird watching. This is because the quality of the image fades as you zoom in. Adjusting the magnification of both lenses would best suit your needs.
Finding a pair of quality binoculars that suits your price range and have all the features you need is a difficult task. To help you decide, I have written a review on the pair of binoculars I think are one of the best on the market, where to buy them, and what added features they have. Click here
